Now that the public is embracing adult stars at every opportunity, it’s no surprise that Pets are making the leap to mainstream material.
American pop culture is being invaded by porn stars crossing over into the mainstream, including April 2008 Pet of the Month Alektra Blue and March 2008 Pet Bree Olson, both of whom can be seen in recent music videos from top artists. Alektra and fellow adult star Jessica Drake appear as inmates in the opening sequence of Lady Gaga’s video for “Telephone.” As Lady Gaga is led through the prison, Jessica licks the bars salaciously while her neighbor, Alektra, glares menacingly at the new kid on the cell block.
Bree, meanwhile, can be seen in the video for Flo Rida’s “Zoosk Girl,” featuring T-Pain. Bree is one of the many Zoosk Girls who are in a charm-school setting so they can learn from the hip-hop artists. “It’s funny, because I’m the only blonde in the video,” Bree says with a laugh. “I stick out like a sore thumb. But everyone was really cool, so it was a lot of fun!”
Bree, who’s been a fan of T-Pain’s since he worked with Saturday Night Live’s Andy Samberg on the rap parody “I’m on a Boat,” was thrilled to work with him: “I’m always walking around singing ‘I’m on a Boat,’ so I couldn’t say no. I’d never really thought about doing music videos, but for someone I’m a fan of, it was definitely worth it.”
When she met T-Pain on set, she became even more enamored of him. “You have this image of what a rapper will be like,” she says. “You see him in his video and he has all the chains and the sunglasses, and I was expecting him to be the stereotypical rapper. And then I’m walking down the hall and I hear someone calling my name. I turn around and it was T-Pain. All I could think was, Oh, my God, I didn’t even know he knew who I was! And he was so proper, so friendly, and I was just taken aback. It was not what I expected at all. He was so sweet.”

Taylor Vixen and Veronica Ricci teamed up for a steamy photo shoot to promote their appearance at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Pet of the Year Taylor Vixen and Runner-Up Veronica Ricci flew to Indiana for a pre–Sturgis Motorcycle Rally photo shoot with Easyriders photog rapher Michael “Balls” Farabaugh. The Pets were revved up to have the powerful machines between their legs, and about the rally. Taylor tells us, “I knew a lot of bikers when I lived in Dallas, and I’ve heard about the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally forever. I’m so excited about being a part of it.” As for Veronica, she was getting ready for all the manly biker dudes. “People think bikers are men you should watch out for,” she says, “but I know they’re the sweetest, most respectful, and sexiest. I’m ready to party in my motorcycle boots!”
Farabaugh, whose relationship with Penthouse dates back several years, was equally excited about the upcoming event. “Say you have 1,000 places and things to see and do before you die—put this at No. 1. When a Penthouse Pet joins forces with one of New York City’s most exclusive nightclubs and a founding member of the Classical Theatre of Harlem for an off-Broadway show, the results are sinful and sexy.
We know Penthouse fans are familiar with the story of the infamous Roman emperor Caligula, as the VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray releases of Bob Guccione’s equally infamous 1979 film have been best-sellers for decades. Recently, a New York City venue hosted performances of Caligula Maximus, a new tale of the emperor with songs, dancing, and enough naked ladies to populate a sorority house … or a Roman bath.
Randy Weiner, cowriter and coproducer of the musical/baccha nalia, says, “It was more of an erotic circus. We wanted to really blow it up and take the world of [my nightclub] the Box, which is sort of wild, erotic, and very le freak, and put it into Caligula.”
Justine Joli, our 2008 Pet of the Year Runner-Up, starred as Caesonia, Caligula’s third wife (played by Oscar winner Helen Mirren in the 1979 film). This was Justine’s first foray on the stage, and at first she was intimidated by the intimacy of the small theater. “It wasn’t until my costar JerZ [Short] said, ‘Just play the dumb model,’ that it clicked for me,” she says. “Once that happened, I learned to play with the role a little more and really got into character.” Naturally, Justine had no problem getting comfortable with the idea of being almost naked for nearly the entire show, alongside a dozen other scantily clad or nude actresses.
The play focuses on the emperor’s last days in power, with Caligula facing his followers’ growing discontentment while pondering the creation of his own religion to combat the rise of new mono theistic faiths. The members of Caligula’s tribe participate in the emperor’s “revival meeting,” which boasts feats of strength and orgiastic rituals, to say nothing of nekkid Hula-hooping and roller-skating.
“There were so many great things in the show,” Justine says. “A 12-foot golden cock, an aerialist whose feet never touch the ground…. If someone didn’t want to focus on Caligula, there were naked ladies doing different things all over the stage. There was always something going on.”
“It wasn’t a Shakespeare play, it was an event,” agreed Short, who played Caligula’s right-hand man. “It was high-end guerrilla theater. We sang vulgar songs, we had naked people it was new territory.”

Putting fame-seekers on TV and letting them compete for their dream gig is the go-to reality-TV gimmick, be it singers, dancers, designers, chefs, or hairdressers. But none of them measure up to Sex With the Stars.
This new Pay-Per-View show, a hard-core-porn twist on Dancing With the Stars, is being hosted and judged by June 2009 Pet of the Month Kagney Linn Karter and adult-industry veteran Ed Powers. Nine very lucky amateur performers will work with nine sexy starlets—among them powerhouse Pets Tori Black, Shawna Leneé, Rebeca Linares, and Nikki Benz. Each pair will perform before the judges, with two to three scenes per episode.
Several of the amateurs made their on-camera debut on the show. Kagney says, “It was interesting to see the wannabe porn stars come in and to see how nervous they were and how they acted around the big stars, especially the guys. But they did really well.”
Between scenes you can listen to the judges’ commentary, watch interviews with the performers, and catch some silly yet sexy Q&A sessions with the stars.
The show premiered in February, with a party at New York’s HeadQuarters gentlemen’s club hosted by rocker/porn actor Evan Seinfeld. “A lot of people came out that night to support the show and the cast,” says Kagney, who made a special appearance. “It was a lot of fun to meet everyone, especially the fans.”

When the January 12th earthquake devastated Haiti, causing millions of dollars in damage and more than 200,000 deaths, everyone wanted to help … including porn stars.
On January 29th, Pets Charlie Laine (February 2006) and Celeste Star (July 2005) cohosted a fund-raiser for Haitian relief organization OneDomeAtATime.org that was spearheaded by adult star Zoe Britton. Penthouse Studios regulars Ann Marie Rios and Karlie Montana also shared hosting duties for the event at Jane’s House, one of Hollywood’s newest hot spots, and a slew of other adult stars—including February 2007 Pet Stormy Daniels and 2010 Pet of the Year Taylor Vixen—showed their support by attending. “We’re all so fortunate, and I think it’s really important to share what we have,” Taylor said. “And the event was a lot of fun! I think it’s great that Zoe organized it.”
Porn fans mingled with adult-entertainment folk in the Victorian house-turned-lounge, filling the club until, as Charlie put it, “You couldn’t see two feet in front of you.” She laughed before she added, “It was a good mix of fans and industry friends. “The party was a good way to get the people of Los Angeles to come by and say hi,” Charlie continued. “And since admission was only $10, it didn’t cost much to donate to a good cause and party with porn stars. I wanted to use my name to do some good, and the tragedy in Haiti hit so many people, we had to do something. We raised $3,000 at the door alone, without prepaid guests and additional donations, so we had no trouble reaching our goal of $5,000.”

The 2010 Penthouse Superparty at Passions Nightclub in Hollywood, Florida, was hosted by 20 luscious Pets, making it our biggest and best Super Bowl–weekend gala yet.
Our 2010 Pet of the Year, Taylor Vixen, and her partner in crime, Runner-Up Veronica Ricci, were the de facto leaders of the pack of Pets, which included familiar faces—Aria Giovanni (September 2000), Ashley Roberts (December 2004), and Prinzzess (October 2004)—as well as brand-new Pets Jessica Wilson (January 2010), Heidi Baron (February 2010), and Jelena Jensen (March 2010). Jelena’s issue had not even hit newsstands at the time, but she was thrilled to represent, saying, “It’s great to kick off my Penthouse Pet status with these ladies. I’ve been wishing to be a part of this family for such a long time, and everyone has been very warm and welcoming.”
Meanwhile, Taylor couldn’t keep her hands off Jelena’s impressive curves. “I don’t think I can even wait to shoot together with Jelena,” Taylor said. “I want to have her now.” And the secret is out: We’re sure all their fans will be anxious for these two naturally busty brunettes to come together for a Penthouse video, not to mention a magazine layout.
The Pets were shuttled to all the weekend’s activities and events on the Penthouse Party Bus, and Wisconsin cutie Charlie Laine (February 2006) took over the driver’s microphone to emcee a rousing game of Show Your Tits. After Charlie introduced each Pet, she would begin a “show your tits” chant until the Pet in question complied—and of course she always did. Happily, despite the tantalizing sights tempting the bus driver to turn his attention away from the road, the girls got to their destinations safe and sound. “The Penthouse Super Bowl celebration has always meant fun and crazy games for me,” explained Charlie. “But it’s also our annual reunion. It’s the only time I can see this many of the girls at once. It’s great!”
The party itself surpassed the Pets’ expectations … once they finally got inside. The ladies spent more than half an hour on the red carpet getting their photos taken. “I’m pretty sure that takes a long time because we always do dirty things to each other when we’re on the ‘Step and Repeat,’ ” said Jennifer Emerson (March 2006). Jennifer spent the better part of the evening playfully accosting every Pet she could get her hands on: “I just enjoy sticking my fingers where they don’t belong.”
The Pets also spent a lot of time on the dance floor, and when the band LMFAO performed, several Pets—including Aria and Shay Laren (June 2006)—danced onstage with the band. “Penthouse Pets and rock bands have always gone hand in hand,” said Aria, who had a great time shaking her moneymaker and smoking a cigar. The lucky band members partied after their set with Aria, Shay, and 2007 Pet of the Year Heather Vandeven.
There were different degrees of access at the multileveled Passions, but one common characteristic of Penthouse Pets is that they love meeting the magazine’s readers. There was no way these lovely ladies were going to hide out in a VIP area. The Pets covered all areas of the club throughout the night, meeting and partying with all the fans who came to meet them—along with porn star Savanna Samson and sultry 1995 Pet of the Year Gina LaMarca, who now works behind the camera as a makeup artist and stylist.
Each year, the Penthouse Superparty makes an even bigger splash, so you might want to start planning an early February 2011 trip to Dallas to party with the Pets.

The nominees are Savanna Samson, Tabitha Stevens, and Jenna Jameson; their naughty nudes will be documented during the first three episodes, and the winner will be revealed on the fourth and final installment, on April 26th, by Howard and Mr. Skin.

Every January, the adult industry takes over Las Vegas for a long weekend. Stars meet fans at the Adult Entertainment Expo, everybody parties like rock stars, and the best of the previous year is celebrated at the Adult Video News Awards.
Comedian Dave Attell cohosted the 27th annual awards show with September 2008 Pet Kayden Kross and starlet Kirsten Price. Attell was in fine form and got rave reviews from attendees. The comic’s best moment, in our humble opinion, was his description of what he would say if asked to remove a performer’s anal beads: “And the winning Powerball numbers are.…” For her part, Kayden tells us, “It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Being in the audience is a rush as it is, especially when you’re nominated, but hosting was a whole new level of amazing!”
The night was full of the kind of entertaining patter other awards shows can only dream of. Before the nominees for Female Performer of the Year were read, presenter Evan Stone said, “There are 15 nominees for Female Performer—15!—and I’ve fucked all of them!” His copresenter, Joanna Angel, quickly replied, “Oh yeah? Me too!”
Penthouse Pets were the night’s biggest winners, with more than a dozen awards, including some of the event’s top honors. Among them: July 2007 Pet Sasha Grey, who won Best Anal Sex Scene and Best Oral Sex Scene, was also the Jenna Jameson Crossover Star of the Year; June 2009 Pet Kagney Linn Karter won Best New Starlet; 2009 Pet of the Year Runner-Up Shawna Leneé was Unsung Starlet of the Year; 2003 Pet of the Year Sunny Leone took home Web Starlet of the Year; and Penthouse model Lexi Belle won Best New Web Starlet.
But Tori Black, our December 2008 Pet of the Month, stole the show. Tori was named Female Performer of the Year and honored with six other awards: Best Tease Performance; Best Gonzo Release, Tori Black Is Pretty Filthy; Best Interactive DVD, Interactive Sex With Tori Black; Best All-Girl Couples Sex Scene, with Lexi Belle; Best All-Girl Threeway Sex Scene, with Poppy Morgan and March 2008 Pet Bree Olson; and Best Threeway Sex Scene, with Mark Ashley and March 2009 Pet Rebeca Linares. Our favorite post ceremony quote from Tori came to us via Twitter: “Holy shit. Just got home from Vegas, relaxing in bed wondering WTF just happened?!? Thanks to the AVN Awards I need a new shelf!”
“Winning is the most amazing feeling,” Sunny Leone told us. “Sort of like when I got the call that I was Pet of the Year. I really can’t believe it. I wasn’t expecting to win. I was hoping I would, and I was confident that I had the best website, but you never know what the voters are looking for. I’m very thankful to AVN for recognizing my work.” Sunny also won Best All-Girl Group Sex Scene, which she shared with January 2009 Pet Teagan Presley and Penthouse model Eva Angelina. The luscious Teagan took home Best Solo Sex Scene as well.
Penthouse Studios won again this year, with the Penthouse Variations line honored as Best Vignette Series.

Porn fans are some of the most loyal we know, and no one inspires more loyalty and dedication than the Penthouse Pets. When September 2008 Pet Kayden Kross and October 2004 Pet Prinzzess turned up at Las Vegas Adultcon—a XXX convention that brings together porn stars and their fans—Penthouse readers and porn viewers eagerly lined up to meet the sexy starlets. “I’ve done Adultcon in L.A. a number of times, but this was my first time at the Adultcon in Vegas,” Kayden tells us. “People brought all kinds of things to sign. Mostly they had photos and DVD cases, but I was even asked to sign shoelaces. That was hard.”
What the Pets really love about Adultcon and other live appear ances is meeting their fans. Some of Prinzzess’s admirers were lucky enough to have the lovely Pet take photos with them so she could post them on her Twitter account. “I love meeting the fans,” she says, “and so many of them follow me on Twitter. Whenever a fan comes up and tells me he’s one of my followers, I take a picture and post it. That way they have a chance to be part of my Twitter feed.”
“My personal favorite is when members of my site come to meet me in person,” Kayden says. “We’ve usually talked for months via email or on my message boards, and it’s nice to finally be able to put a face with the name.”

The crew at The Howard Stern Show named Taylor Vixen their favorite weeks before she was crowned 2010 Pet of the Year.
When Howard Stern hosted the 2009 edition of the Penthouse Pet Beauty Pageant, three popular centerfolds—April 2009 Pet Veronica Ricci, September 2009 Pet Taylor Vixen, and October 2009 Pet Ryan Keely—were put through their paces, so to speak, in a stiff competition. For the talent segment, Taylor performed “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” in her favorite cowboy boots and little else, Veronica rocked out to “The Imperial March” from Star Wars in her own version of a Princess Leia bikini, and Ryan belted out Peggy Lee’s “Fever” nude. “I pretty much faced my worst fear,” Ryan says. “Singing naked in front of a roomful of strangers who were all judging me was pretty terrifying!”
Of course, there were also many embarrassing questions. Taylor says, “They had this question: Would you do blank to save a dying child, and it was, ‘Would you eat out your mother?’ I said absolutely not, no way. Howard said, ‘You would let that child die?’ and I said yes. I know it’s part of some crazy girl-girl fantasy, but that’s just sick!”
Veronica—who wowed the crowd from the start, with Howard declaring, “Holy shit. You are gorgeous!”—tells us, “They asked if I’d ever fuck a man for a million dollars. When I said it would depend on the man, they asked if I would care who it was as long as he had no STDs. Then they offered up Artie. I said, ‘I thought you said no STDs.’ But for a million, sure, I’d do Artie.”
For her part, Ryan—a former adult DVD reviewer and radio host who considers Howard a role model—upped the ante and made out with Veronica, proving the Pets are all about good-natured competition. “I had a lot of fun,” she says. “Veronica got a little friendly, and I can never say no to a redhead, so it was a great day.”

When Apple approved the first iPhone application for a male porn star last year, we knew it wouldn’t be long before the ladies caught up.
It came as no surprise to us that the first femmes to take advantage of the new iPhone app technology were Penthouse Pets. The cutting-edge ladies were led by 2003 Pet of the Year Sunny Leone, the first female porn star to get the okay. September 2000 Pet Aria Giovanni and January 2009 Pet Teagan Presley followed shortly after, with 2009 Pet of the Year Runner-Up Shawna Lenee and September 2008 Pet Kayden Kross being the latest to make their debuts.
The apps give fans 24/7 access to photo and video galleries of the stars in their sexiest lingerie and bikinis (Apple won’t allow nude photos yet), as well as blogs, candid shots in everyday gear, and appearance updates—all for no more than $1.99 each. Sunny and Shawna even have softer versions that are free. “I’m so excited about the future of my iPhone app,” Sunny says. “This provides an entirely new way for me to communicate with my fans and give them a new and unique content experience.”
Teagan’s app, appropriately named iTeagan, will also include an audio message from the star and her Twitter feed, and all photos and videos will be updated automatically … and frequently. “My fans are demanding, and they demand the best,” Teagan explains.

Ever wonder how we find all our luscious ladies? Sometimes we get a little help.
Penthouse recently teamed up with PURE Management Group to host a nationwide model search at PURE Nightclub in Las Vegas, with none other than 2009 Pet of the Year Taya Parker and 2010 Pet of the Year Taylor Vixen hosting and acting as judges. Dozens of girls converged on the club to take part in preliminary contests in November and December, with the top scorers returning earlier this month for a final round of competition. The model hopefuls had to pose, dance, and answer questions from judges, all while a live, enthusiastic audience cheered them on.
But impressing the audience was only half the battle. They also had to impress the Pets. “I’ve always thought it would be cool to pick the models for Penthouse,” Taylor says. “Talk about a great job!” And what did the Pet of the Year think of the potential Penthouse models? “I was really taken with the girls,” she tells us. “It was very hard to decide on a winner.”
The lucky lady gets a photo shoot with a Penthouse photographer, and could end up in the magazine alongside the very Pets who helped pick her. We’ll keep you posted.

Wherever there are new Penthouse products, Pets are close behind. The girls are big fans of the brand—January 2009 Pet Teagan Presley has even Twittered about her favorite Penthouse pants—and they like to show their Pet pride at appearances promoting the magazine and the company’s products. New Penthouse Lingerie items were launched at the International Lingerie Show this past September, and Pet Lux Kassidy and new Pet of the Year Taylor Vixen went to Las Vegas to model their favorites. Taylor was all about the shoes, showing off the newest fuzzy boots and the hottest high heels. “I love the new Penthouse shoes,” she says. “I want to buy every pair.” Lux proudly displayed a PET-emblazoned thong and showed off the new Penthouse cigars, all while sporting her own pair of Penthouse boots. Lux says, “I’ve been wearing the Penthouse clothes and jewelry everywhere I go. They’re awesome!” The girls also met fans, many of whom showed up with photos and magazines for the centerfolds to sign. “It was a blast,” Taylor said. “Lux and I had a lot of fun.”
